Organising an event in the Madonie? Send us the poster or the official link. Report an event
In summer. Between July and August almost every village has its patron saint festival, and August brings the food and music festivals together: the Sagra della Spiga in Gangi, the Sagra delle Nocciole in Polizzi Generosa, Ypsigrock and the Castelbuono Jazz Festival in Castelbuono. Autumn brings mushrooms, olive oil and cheese, December nativity scenes and markets, spring the Holy Week rites.
Each event has a page that stays the same over the years, with the current edition highlighted, past editions, the place and a link to the source: the town council, the Pro Loco, the organiser or a local newspaper. A date appears only when an official source confirms it, alongside the day we checked it.
If the new year’s dates are not out yet, the page shows the last edition and the usual period. A cancelled or postponed event stays in the calendar with its status shown clearly.
Use the filters above for month, category and town, or open the dedicated pages:
From the event page you reach the village, with where to stay and where to eat in the same municipality. On festival days small villages have few beds: book early.
In winter also check the weather and the roads on the roads page: December events and the highest villages can have snow.
