The Notte Bianca di Gangi is the night when the old town stays awake until the small hours: concerts in Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Zoppo di Gangi, ballroom and folk music in the streets, street food, stalls, and shops and museums open. It takes place on a Saturday in the second half of August, within the free Estate Gangitana programme. In 2026 the 18th edition was on Saturday 22 August.

When is it?

The date changes every year but always falls on a weekend in the second half of August. The town council of Gangi sets it in the Estate Gangitana programme, which in 2026 ran from 24 July to 13 September and was published on the council’s Facebook page.

Practical tips

It’s a night to enjoy on foot, walking up and down between the squares of the old town. Gangi sits at 1,011 metres. Sources don’t mention dedicated car parks.

From Palermo it’s about 116 km and an hour and 40 minutes, via the Tremonzelli exit on the A19 and then the SS120 (see getting to the Madonie by car). Given how late the concerts end, it’s worth staying in town: see where to stay in Gangi and, for dinner before the party, where to eat in Gangi. For the evening weather there’s the Gangi forecast.

At the same time of year Gangi hosts other Estate Gangitana events; in early August there’s the Sagra della Spiga. Everything else is on the Gangi page and under events in Gangi; other music nights are on the Madonie music events page.
