Where are the Madonie B&Bs?

Most are in Cefalù, between the old town and the streets towards the sea. The others are spread among the inland villages:

Sea or mountains?

If you stay three days or more, split your stay: one or two nights in Cefalù, the rest in an inland village. That way you avoid climbing from sea level to 1,500 metres every day.

From Cefalù to Castelbuono it is about 23 km and 26 minutes; from Petralia Sottana to Piano Battaglia about 18 km and 24 minutes (OSRM calculations on OpenStreetMap, on the roads page).

Frequently asked questions

A B&B in Cefalù or in a mountain village?
It depends on what you plan to do. In Cefalù you have the sea, the cathedral and more restaurants, and Castelbuono is about 23 km away. If you want to walk up high every day, sleep inland: from Polizzi Generosa or Petralia Sottana, Piano Battaglia is 20 to 25 minutes away, from Cefalù about an hour.
Are Madonie B&Bs open all year?
We have no general figure: each place sets its own opening periods. Contact it with the phone number or website on the listing before you leave, especially between November and March.
Is there parking at village B&Bs?
In the old centres of the Madonie the streets are narrow and often steep, and parking at the door is not always possible. Ask the B&B where to leave the car and how far you will walk with your bags; in Cefalù also ask how far you can drive in.
