How do you plan a week?

One home by the sea and one in the mountains, three or four nights each, show you two different Madonie. From the coast you drive up to Castelbuono, Gratteri and Isnello; inland you have Piano Battaglia, the two Petralias, Polizzi Generosa and Gangi within reach.

For shopping with local products, see the food shops in where to eat in the Madonie and the calendar of food festivals. For day-by-day ideas there is the itineraries page.

Frequently asked questions

Holiday home or B&B in the Madonie?
For two or three nights a B&B is easier, with breakfast ready and a host who gives you directions. From four nights up, or with children, a holiday home saves you money on meals and lets you cook what you buy in the food shops and at the sagre.
Where are the holiday homes in the inland Madonie?
Among our listings there are houses and flats in Petralia Soprana, the highest village in the Madonie at 1,147 metres, in Gangi and in Castelbuono. Other countryside places appear among the agriturismi and B&Bs: filter by town on those pages too.
Can you sleep in the woods in the Madonie?
In the woods proper the confirmed options are few: up high there is the Rifugio Giuliano Marini at Piano Battaglia, and in the woods above Castelbuono there are some huts for which we have no up-to-date data on opening and management. See the mountain huts page and call first.
Do holiday homes have a minimum stay?
It depends on the property and the season: some ask for a minimum number of nights. We do not publish prices or conditions, which change often: you find them on the property's website or by asking with the contacts on the listing.
