The Vucciria Beer Festival is Geraci Siculo’s summer craft beer festival. For three days in July corso Vittorio Emanuele fills with stalls of beers brewed from ancient Madonie grains and malts, local meats and cheeses, and in the evening DJ sets and tribute bands. On Sunday afternoon beer is brewed live. It’s organised by the Associazione Culturale V.B.F., and in 2026 the 7th edition ran from 17 to 19 July.
When is it held?
In July, from Friday to Sunday. The 6th edition was from 4 to 6 July 2025, the 7th from 17 to 19 July 2026. The 2027 dates haven’t come out yet.

This is the programme published by Madonie Press. On all three days there was also a stall run by Geraci Siculo’s Consulta Giovanile, the youth council.
Beer, ancient grains and pastoral culture
The festival came out of a regional Department of Agriculture call for projects promoting farm and food products. The aim, explains Fabrizio Coco, the association’s vice president and project curator, is to spread “the culture of craft beer brewed with ancient grains and malts from the Madonie”.
Alongside the beers come the products of the town’s farming and pastoral culture: beef, horse, lamb and pork from local farms, cheese and sheep’s, cow’s and goat’s ricotta. The stalls are run by businesses from Geraci and the Madonie. For more local produce there’s our guide to Madonie food.
What to do in Geraci during the festival
Mayor Luigi Iuppa invites visitors to spend the weekend in town, between hikes on the mountain, the old town and its flower-filled alleys, with afternoon activities and evening music. What to see is on the Geraci Siculo page; for walks around the town there are the Geraci Siculo trails.
Practical tips
- Getting there. Geraci Siculo sits at 1,077 metres. From Palermo it’s about 114 km and an hour and 40 minutes; from Castelbuono 22 km on the SS286, about 25 minutes; from Gangi 14 km (see getting to the Madonie by car). Sources don’t list dedicated car parks.

- The Associazione Culturale V.B.F., with vice president Fabrizio Coco as project curator. In 2026 the festival was funded by the regional Department of Agriculture, under the patronage of the town of Geraci Siculo and, for the first time, with a contribution from the Città Metropolitana di Palermo.
