Where to stay in the Madonie

Opening hours, prices and seasons change: call before you go.

Where is the best place to stay in the Madonie?

It depends on what you do. If you want to alternate sea and day trips, the easiest base is Cefalù, which has most of the hotels, B&Bs and holiday homes. If you come to walk or ski at Piano Battaglia, stay inland: from Petralia Sottana or Polizzi Generosa the plateau is 20 to 25 minutes’ drive, from Cefalù about an hour.

Can you stay at Piano Battaglia?

On the plateau the only place with rooms that we have confirmed as open, in winter too, is the Rifugio Giuliano Marini: 18 rooms and 68 beds, with a restaurant. The other huts, from Piano Zucchi to Piano Pomo, are on the Madonie mountain huts page, with what we know about opening and management.

Which type of place should you choose?

Each type has its own page, with a text that explains where they are and how to choose:

How are the places chosen?

We publish a place only with a verifiable source, almost always OpenStreetMap, and with the date of the last check. We check them again every week: if a place disappears from the source, we verify and remove it. We do not publish ratings, reviews or prices, which change often: for availability and rates, the property’s website is what counts.

Where to stay, village by village?

Each village has its own page with the places in that municipality. The most searched are where to stay in Cefalù, in Castelbuono, in Petralia Sottana and in Isnello. For skiing there is also the guide to huts open in winter near Piano Battaglia.

Once you have chosen where to stay, you find places to eat in the same village in where to eat in the Madonie and a ready-made plan in the weekend in the Madonie.
