Events in Caltavuturo

Caltavuturo's calendar peaks in August. Around 15 August comes the International Folklore Festival, organised by the Gazzara folk group, with guest groups from several countries dancing and playing in the open-air theatre and in the streets. On the same days, or close to them, there is the Trail della Luna: a trail race with a night stage on the paths above the village and non-competitive walks for those who do not run. The feast of the patron saint, Maria Santissima del Soccorso, goes back to a cult that began in the mid-fifteenth century.
