On 20 August [Scillato](https://www.lemadonie.it/en/villages/scillato/) celebrates its patron saint, Maria Santissima della Catena. During the day the statue is carried in procession through the streets of the centre on a float decorated with flowers; in the evening there is a show in Piazza Aldo Moro, closed by fireworks. Cefalunews calls it the village's main celebration. It is a small village feast, and few sources have been published. The last detailed programme we found is from 2024. In 2026 the parish, with Don Franco and Don Matteo, released its message for the feast in early August. ## The procession The statue of the Madonna della Catena is carried on the shoulders of devotees. The float, covered in flowers, goes round the streets of the centre, followed by the faithful in prayer. In their 2026 message the parish priests asked the community to let the feast fill "the homes, squares and streets of our small and beautiful Scillato". ## The evening in Piazza Aldo Moro In the evening the feast moves to Piazza Aldo Moro. In 2024 the show began at 22:00 with the LadyVband, followed by the singer Wax, the tenor Salvo Randazzo with the pianist Liana D'Angelo and a DJ set with Luca Onestini.
