## Programme

18th edition. Stalls along Corso Paolo Agliata (Friday from 19:00, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00). Friday at 20:00 opening of the "Affreschi di Luce" projection mapping in Piazzetta Municipio and at 22:00 Gli Sguazzacannati in Piazza Umberto I; Saturday CAI hike on the Sentiero Italia and at 22:00 Sirah etnoband in Piazza Umberto; Sunday literary walk to the Catarratti power station, contradanza and at 12:00 tasting of agnolotti and Fassona beef from the twin town of Trinità (CN). Antonio Collisani civic museum open 9:30 to 20:00.

The Festa dei Sapori Madoniti d'Autunno is the Madonie produce festival of [Petralia Sottana](https://www.lemadonie.it/en/villages/petralia-sottana/). It lasts three days in late October: along Corso Paolo Agliata there are stalls run by producers and craftspeople, and around them hikes, open churches, workshops and concerts in the squares. The eighteenth edition runs from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026.

It is organised by the Consorzio Centro Commerciale Naturale "Antonio Pepe", with support from the town council and BCC delle Madonie and co-funding from the regional agriculture department. It started as a local initiative and is now an event of regional interest.

## What you find along the corso

Corso Paolo Agliata is the main street of the old town, with churches and 19th-century palazzi. During the festival it fills with stalls: typical Madonie products to taste and buy, crafts, local businesses. The stalls open on Friday at 19:00 and on Saturday and Sunday at 10:00.

The Piedmontese town of Trinità (province of Cuneo), twinned with Petralia Sottana, brings its own dishes: it did so in 2025 and does it again in 2026. In 2026 the tasting is on Sunday at 12:00 on the corso: agnolotti with butter and sage and hand-chopped Piedmontese Fassona beef. In 2025 there were fresh ricotta, bagna cauda and Fassona, with free tasting.

## Churches, museum and guided tours

For all three days the church of San Francesco and the church of the Santissima Trinità (the Badia) stay open, run by the Nìke cooperative: Friday and Saturday 10:00-13:00 and 16:00-19:00, Sunday 10:30-13:30 and 14:30-17:30. The Antonio Collisani civic museum, with the geology section of the Madonie UNESCO Global Geopark, is open from 9:30 to 20:00. Guided tours of the old town start from the museum, booking on 0921 641811: Saturday at 10:00, 11:30 and 15:00, Sunday at 10:00, 11:00 and 14:00.

During the festival the headquarters of the [Ballo della Cordella](https://www.lemadonie.it/en/events/ballo-della-cordella-ribbon-dance-and-wedding-procession/) association also opens, Saturday 17:00-19:00 and Sunday 10:00-12:00 and 15:00-18:00. On Saturday and Sunday Mastro Alfredo runs a workshop on making panari and firrizzi.

## Hikes and activities for children

On Saturday 24 CAI Madonie of Petralia Sottana takes visitors along the Sentiero Italia, to the San Brancato bridge, the Sant'Otiero geosite and the centuries-old Taccarelle chestnut wood. You start at 9:00 from the entrance of the new hospital and are back for lunch; booking at the tourist office. For children, on Sunday from 10:00 at the Centro Assunta Rinaldi there is the free workshop "Uova, farina e fantasia": you make acieddi cu l'ova, the typical Madonie biscuits whose name changes from one village to the next. It is for children aged 3 and up, by booking. Every day the parish runs a charity raffle and solidarity food at the San Filippo Neri parish centre.

## Past editions

In 2025 the seventeenth edition was held from 24 to 26 October, with a cooking show by chef Simone Scelfo, a concert by Giampiero Amato Sicilian Family, a gathering of vintage cars, motorbikes and Vespas, and a shuttle with several stops and a camper area in contrada Sant'Elia. The calendar stays the same: a weekend between the second-to-last and the last of October.

## Practical tips

Petralia Sottana is about 105 km from Palermo (1 and a half hours, A19 to Tremonzelli and then SS120) and about 60 km from Cefalù (1 hour 5), according to our calculation on OpenStreetMap without traffic.
